Desa Kitsuné vs Atlas: garden party or mega beach club?

Desa Kitsuné throws a 21+ garden party in a Canggu village twice a week; Atlas is a vast Berawa beach club of pools, beanbags and daily shows. What each offers, side by side.

Desa Kitsuné and Atlas are both in the Canggu area, but they answer different questions. Desa Kitsuné is a lifestyle village by the Savaya Group and Maison Kitsuné whose garden becomes a 21+ party every Tuesday and Friday, rain or shine. Atlas Beach Club sits on Berawa Beach and bills itself as the biggest beach club in the world: beanbags on the sand, a vast pool, DJs through the day and daily shows. One is a night in a garden, the other a day on the beach. FirstBali arranges both through the concierge.

The short answer

  • A party night in a garden, twice a week: Desa Kitsuné, on Tuesdays and Fridays.
  • A whole day by the sea and a pool: Atlas, with beanbags on the sand and a pool bar where DJs play through the day.
  • Dinner and the party on the same grounds: Desa Kitsuné, where the Ina Ré restaurant shares the village.
  • Shows and activities between drinks: Atlas, with daily shows on the four elements, a beachfront padel court and a flying fox.

The setting

Desa Kitsuné — desa means village — is a garden in the heart of Canggu, shared by Café Kitsuné, the Ina Ré restaurant and a Maison Kitsuné boutique. On party nights the Garden itself is the dance floor. There is a pool on the grounds, but it is decorative: this is not a swimming venue, and the night is about the garden and the music.

Atlas is built on the beach. Its signature beanbags face the sea, a vast pool and pool bar sit beside them, and daybeds and sofas are spread across distinct zones, from The Deck restaurant overlooking the beach to the Party Side in front of the stage. Swimming, sand and sun are the point of the day.

When each one happens

Desa Kitsuné parties on two nights a week: guest DJs on Tuesdays, Bali-based DJs on Fridays, and the party goes ahead rain or shine. Read the Tuesday and Friday guide for how the two nights differ.

Atlas runs every day, with DJs at the pool through the day and shows drawing on the four elements. It is a daytime venue first, where Desa Kitsuné is a night out.

Getting in

Desa Kitsuné parties are 21+ with a valid photo ID, passport or driver's licence, and the dress code is smart casual. Many nights have a guestlist run by the venue itself: each guest registers on the night's page, joining is free, and entry is complimentary before the cutoff shown on that page, with an earlier cutoff for men. Registration does not guarantee complimentary entry, and the venue states that mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred. Some nights are ticketed only. More in the Desa Kitsuné guestlist guide.

Atlas is about choosing a seat: beanbags, daybeds and sofas across its zones. Its terms are its own, and the concierge checks them for your date.

Reserved space

At Desa Kitsuné, a table is the only reserved space. The venue sets its minimum spend per night, the flyer's Table button on the events page opens the night's table map, and FirstBali books with the venue. The table is yours once the venue confirms it; any deposit follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation.

At Atlas, you reserve a daybed or sofa in the zone you prefer, from The Deck to the Party Side. Here too, nothing is confirmed until the club confirms it.

Food

Desa Kitsuné has Ina Ré on the same grounds and Café Kitsuné for the daytime, so dinner before the party needs no second address — see dinner before Desa Kitsuné. Atlas serves its food at The Deck, the restaurant overlooking the beach, and you can eat without leaving your seat for the day.

Can you do both?

Yes, on a Tuesday or a Friday: a day at Atlas on the beach, then the garden party at Desa Kitsuné once the sun is down. Change before the evening, since Desa Kitsuné asks for smart casual, and keep your ID with you. A driver who waits makes the move between the two simpler — see the private driver guide.

Which one fits your plan

  • Desa Kitsuné offers a night: a garden party with guest or Bali-based DJs, a restaurant on site and a venue-run guestlist on many nights.
  • Atlas offers a day: the sea, a vast pool, beanbags on the sand and shows from one seat.

Tell the concierge the date, how many you are and the plan you have in mind. The team checks what can be arranged and comes back with the venue's terms. An assistant answers at any hour, the team through the Bali day and evening.
