Kuta's nightlife begins at sunset on its long, west-facing beach, and the area's flagship for a night out is Zumana, the Savaya Group's beach club at Sunset Bay, open daily from the afternoon into the night. From there the evening can stay on the sand, move north to Seminyak for dinner and a club, or south to the cliffs. FirstBali sends you the guestlist link for Zumana's nights and books tables through the concierge.

What Kuta is
Kuta is the capital of Kuta District, in Badung Regency, in the south of Bali. It began as a fishing village and was one of the first towns on the island to see substantial tourism; it is known for its long sandy beach, its surf, and its hotels, restaurants and nightlife. It sits close to Ngurah Rai, the island's main airport, which is why so many visitors spend their first or last night here. To the north, Legian and Seminyak continue the same coastline.
The beach faces west. That one fact shapes the evening: the sun goes down over the sea in front of you, so a night out in Kuta naturally starts with the sunset.
Zumana: the area's flagship
Zumana is "a Savaya Group Property", a beach club at Sunset Bay on Jalan Kartika Plaza, designed by Rockwell Group. It is laid out as beachfront daybeds, poolside spaces, bars and an open-air dance floor, with Manuza as its restaurant. At its heart stands ZENÍA, "The Eternal Host", a 10-metre sculpture by Daniel Popper made with Balinese artisans from Ubud.
Zumana's own website puts the sunset at the centre: "This is the moment ZUMANA was built for. The horizon catches fire, the tribe gathers by the shore." And then: "When the sun drops, the shore transforms. The music rises, the energy deepens."
Zumana's week
Zumana is open daily and keeps a regular shape:
- Sunday, Monday, Tuesday: Zumana Sunday, Zumana Monday and Zumana Tuesday, the house's own days.
- Wednesday and Friday: headliner nights.
- Thursday: a rotation that includes Made in Kuta, in the venue's words "Zumana's signature monthly Thursday celebration, inspired by the spirit of Kuta. Bringing together local talent, music, food, and culture."
- Saturday: Ritual of the Sun, usually with a guest.
Day by day in Zumana's weekly nights; the Sunday in Zumana Sunday.
How to get in
The guestlist. Each night's page on the calendar has its own terms. On the regular days the list gives complimentary entry during an afternoon window, with a reduced fee after it; on headliner nights some dates have a list and others are ticketed only. Joining is free and every guest registers individually for each date; a digital ticket arrives by email. Registration does not guarantee complimentary entry. The walk-through is in the Zumana guestlist.
A table or a daybed. The only reserved space, with a minimum spend set by Zumana for each night. FirstBali books it with the venue, and it is yours once Zumana confirms it. A table is also the only way to leave and come back in.
The door. 21+ with photo ID, smart casual or "upscale beach chic", no flip-flops, no sportswear, swimwear in the pools only: the Zumana dress code.
Before the sunset: dinner and drinks nearby
Zumana's own restaurant, Manuza, is the simplest dinner on a Zumana night: you stay where the party is. For a different table, the catalogue's nearest options are along the coast in either direction:
- North, in Seminyak, Sardine cooks the daily catch in a modern Mediterranean style in an open-air bamboo building over rice paddies, and Les Toilettes, the hidden club at the same address, carries the night on. See Seminyak nightlife.
- South, in Jimbaran, Rock Bar is AYANA Bali's cliffside bar above the ocean, reached by inclinator, for a sunset drink before or instead of the beach.
Sardine
Restaurants · Seminyak
Sardine by K-Club is a seafood restaurant on Jalan Petitenget in Seminyak, set in an open-air bamboo building that looks over a stretch of rice paddies, with a terrace for lunch or dinner. The kitchen cooks the daily catch (yellowfin tuna, scallops, snapper) in a modern Mediterranean style, with vegetables from its own farms and a vegetarian set menu. Evenings can run late: Les Toilettes, the hidden club on site, hosts DJs, and once a month The Gates of Bali brings fire dancers and aerial acts.
Les Toilettes
Clubs · Seminyak
Les Toilettes is the K-Club Group's nightclub on Jalan Petitenget in Seminyak, at the same address as Sardine, the group's seafood restaurant, so dinner and a late night can happen in one place. Now in its 2.0 version, the club draws on club concepts from around the world. Entry is for guests aged 21 and over, at the door's discretion, and the dress code is smart: no flip-flops, sandals or sportswear.
Rock Bar
Bars · Jimbaran
Rock Bar is AYANA Bali's cliffside bar in Jimbaran, stretching some 270 metres along the rocks above the ocean, with 880 seats spread over 22 areas. Guests reach it by inclinator, watch the sun set over the sea, then stay as the DJs play on. The bar pours cocktails inspired by the colours of the sea alongside Mediterranean tapas built on Jimbaran Bay seafood. Non-resident visitors can reserve; the Round Deck is kept for villa guests and the Top Bar for hotel guests. Payment by card or QR only.
A Kuta evening, three ways
- The sunset night. Afternoon at Zumana on the guestlist or a daybed, the sunset from the sand, then the dance floor.
- Dinner, then the beach club. Dinner at Manuza or in Seminyak, then Zumana on a headliner night with a table booked.
- Kuta, then the cliffs. A Monday sunset at Savaya's Last Light in Uluwatu instead, with Kuta as your base: Savaya Last Light.
Getting home
Kuta's streets are busy in the evening, and the roads towards the coast fill up around sunset for everyone at once. Agree on the way home before you go out: a car with a driver who waits is the simplest answer, and FirstBali arranges one through transport.
