For a couple, the right beach club in Bali depends on the mood you want. Zumana, at Sunset Bay in Kuta, pairs beachfront daybeds with sunset sets and parties; El Kabron, on the Uluwatu cliffs, has an adults-only infinity-pool lounge and a terrace for sunset dinners; Le Bleu, on Nusa Dua Beach, is the calmer choice with an indoor dining room. In every case, a reserved daybed or sofa makes the day yours.

Zumana: the beach and the party

Zumana is the Savaya Group's beach club at Sunset Bay, designed by Rockwell Group around beachfront daybeds, poolside spaces, bars and an open-air dance floor, with ZENÍA, Daniel Popper's sculpture, at its centre and Manuza as its restaurant. Its week has a shape that suits a couple: Zumana Sunday, Monday and Tuesday are the easier days, Ritual of the Sun takes Saturdays, and headliners play on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Its guestlist terms say that mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred. A daybed for two is the simplest reserved option; its minimum spend is set by Zumana for each date. The detail is in Zumana for couples.

El Kabron: the cliff and the sunset dinner

El Kabron stands on the limestone cliffs of Pecatu in Uluwatu and has three parts. The Hedonism Lounge is an adults-only infinity-pool area with daybeds and sofas; the Sunset Theater, at the cliff edge, is set up for sunset dinners; and a Mediterranean restaurant serves seafood, oysters and paella. Le Bleu: the quieter beach

Le Bleu by K Club is a beachfront restaurant and beach club on Nusa Dua Beach, in the resort area, all blue and white, with sunbeds, cabanas, terraces and an indoor dining room. The kitchen leans on seafood. Its programme mixes yoga, cocktail workshops and festive Sunday gatherings with a DJ: a softer day than a party club. See the Le Bleu guide.

  • Luna Beach Club, on the Tabanan cliffs inside Nuanu Creative City, has two pools and the Gardenia bamboo tree pods; DJs play through sunset and evenings bring fire and light shows.
  • Reef Beach Club at The Apurva Kempinski sits on the sand beside an infinity pool, with Koral, adults only at dinner, in the same resort.

Le Bleu by K Club is a beachfront restaurant and beach club on Nusa Dua Beach, in the ITDC resort area, run by the K-Club Group. The look is French Riviera by way of Bali, all blue and white, with sunbeds, cabanas, terraces and an indoor dining room. The kitchen leans on seafood, from lobster linguine to yellowfin tuna tataki, with vegetarian and vegan options. The weekly programme mixes yoga, cocktail workshops, beach games and festive Sunday gatherings with a DJ.

Luna Beach Club is perched on the cliffs of the Tabanan coast, inside Nuanu Creative City by Nyanyi Beach, west of Canggu. Its bamboo architecture by Inspiral Architects won a Silver award for sustainable and green architecture at the 2024 International Architecture & Design Awards. The complex brings together two pools, jumping platforms and a water slide, Restaurant 369, the Utopia Cave Club and the Gardenia bamboo tree pods. DJs play through sunset, and evenings bring fire and light shows.

The Apurva Kempinski Bali is a five-star resort on the cliffs of Nusa Dua, facing the Indian Ocean, and its dining spreads across several venues. Koral, which the hotel presents as Bali's first aquarium restaurant, serves set and tasting menus beside the tanks, adults only at dinner. Izakaya by OKU is a sister to OKU in Jakarta; Reef Beach Club sits on the sand beside a 42-metre infinity pool; Bai Yun serves hot pot and dim sum; L'Atelier by Cyril Kongo is a lounge with ocean views and Mediterranean tapas.
