Bali guestlist cutoff: why your guestlist didn't work
A Bali guestlist gives complimentary entry only before the cutoff on the night's page, then a reduced fee. Some nights are ticketed only, and the door can still refuse. How to make it work.

A guestlist at Savaya, Zumana or Desa Kitsuné gives you complimentary entry only before the cutoff shown on the night's page; after it, you pay a reduced entry fee instead. It never guarantees entry: some nights are ticketed only, capacity can be capped, and the door decides. Most "my guestlist didn't work" stories come down to one of the reasons below.
What the list actually gives you
Joining the list costs nothing. What it gets you is complimentary entry before the night's cutoff and, after the cutoff, reduced entry — the venues call it "reduced cover". That is all. It is not a table, not a reserved space, and not a skip-the-door pass. In the venues' own words: "Registration on the guest list does not guarantee complimentary entry."
Reason 1: you arrived after the cutoff
This is the most common one. The cutoff is not the same everywhere, and it changes from night to night:
- Savaya: complimentary entry before the cutoff on that night's page, reduced entry after.
- Zumana: on its regular days — Sunday, Monday and Tuesday — complimentary entry runs during an afternoon window, with reduced entry after. Headliner nights on Wednesdays and Fridays set their own terms.
- Desa Kitsuné: the cutoff is earlier for men than for women, reduced entry follows, and later in the night there is a full-price tier for men.
The only reliable source is the night's own page. Read it on the day — not last week's, not a friend's screenshot.
Reason 2: the night was ticketed only
Some nights have no guestlist at all. Big headliners at Savaya and Zumana are often "ticketed only", as are many Desa Kitsuné nights in November and December. If you registered for a different date, or assumed the list would be open, the door will ask for a ticket. Official tickets are sold only through the venue's own channel; tickets bought elsewhere are refused. At Savaya, tickets are primarily for standing room only.
Reason 3: capacity and the door
Management can refuse entry, close an event or cap capacity at any time. Desa Kitsuné says it plainly: "Management reserves the right to refuse entry at their discretion, even if a guestlist registration has been approved." On a full night, a registration does not create space.
Reason 4: the group
"Mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred" at all three. A group of men only works against that preference, and at Desa Kitsuné the cutoff for men is the earlier one anyway.
Reason 5: the dress code or the state you arrived in
All three are smart casual and refuse beer-branded singlets, cut-off clothing and sportswear. Savaya and Zumana also refuse denim; Zumana and Desa Kitsuné refuse flip-flops; Desa Kitsuné refuses hard-sole shoes, boots, chains and baggy clothing. Intoxicated guests are refused everywhere. A guestlist gets you past the price, never past the dress code. Per venue: Savaya, Zumana, Desa Kitsuné.
Reason 6: the registration itself
- Each person registers for each event. A friend who was not registered, or was registered for another date, is not on the list.
- False information means you are not added.
- No ticket in your email usually means the spam folder or a mistyped address. How to register, step by step covers it.
- ID: all three are 21+. See the age limit guide.
Reason 7: weather
Events can be cancelled for inclement weather. At Savaya and Zumana, guestlist registrations are not transferable when that happens: a cancelled night's registration does not carry over to another date. Desa Kitsuné's Garden parties run "rain or shine".
Leaving and coming back
At Savaya and Zumana, re-entry is not permitted unless a table reservation has been purchased. If you have a table and need to step out, see a Guest Relation Officer before leaving.
How to make it work
- Register early, for each person, on the night's page.
- Read that night's terms, including whether it has a guestlist at all.
- Arrive well before the cutoff, not at the last moment.
- Come as a mixed group or a couple if you can, dressed for the venue, with a valid ID.
- For a big night, consider a table. A table is the only reserved space at these venues. It comes with a minimum spend set by the venue for that night, and it is confirmed by the venue, not by a form. The Table button on each night opens the venue's own table map and pricing page when one is published; FirstBali books the table with the venue for you. More in how table booking works in Bali.

Questions we get asked
+Why didn't my guestlist work in Bali?
Usually because you arrived after the cutoff on the night's page, the night was ticketed only, or the venue was at capacity. At Savaya, Zumana and Desa Kitsuné, registration does not guarantee complimentary entry, and the door can refuse at its discretion.
+What happens if I arrive after the guestlist cutoff?
Complimentary entry no longer applies and a reduced entry fee does instead. At Desa Kitsuné, men later move to a full-price tier.
+What time is the guestlist cutoff at Savaya?
It varies by event and is shown on each night's guestlist page. Read that page on the day rather than relying on a past night's terms.
+Does a guestlist guarantee entry in Bali?
No. Management can refuse entry, close an event or cap capacity at any time, and dress code and sobriety still apply. A table is the only reserved space.
+Why is there no guestlist for some nights?
Some nights, often big headliners, are ticketed only. Official tickets are sold only through the venue's own channel, and tickets bought elsewhere are refused.
+Can I use my guestlist registration on another night if the event is cancelled?
No. At Savaya and Zumana, guestlist registrations are not transferable when an event is cancelled for bad weather; you register again for the new date.
