Bali nightlife in January: after New Year's Eve

January in Bali starts with the tail of the festive season and settles back into the clubs' weekly nights. What to check in the first days, and how to build a January stay.

Updated October 23, 2026 · 3 min read

January in Bali opens where December left off: the first days still belong to the festive season, when the clubs set their terms night by night and many nights are ticketed only. After that, the partner venues' weekly programmes carry the month, from Savaya's Monday sunset to Desa Kitsuné's garden parties and Zumana's Saturday. Check each night on our events page and build the rest of the stay on the weekly rhythm.

The first days of January

If you land just after New Year's Eve, treat each night as its own case. Over the festive season the venues set terms per night: one night is ticketed only, the next has a list, and a ticketed-only night can open a list later. The night's page is the only place that says which. See Bali's festive season nightlife for the full picture, and guestlist or ticket to choose between them.

The weekly rhythm returns

Once the holidays are over, the recurring nights the venues publish are the backbone of a January stay:

  • Monday — Savaya's "Last Light", a sunset set from The Cube on the Uluwatu clifftop.
  • Tuesday and Friday — Desa Kitsuné's garden parties in Canggu, which the venue says go ahead "rain or shine".
  • Weeknights — Zumana's rotation at Sunset Bay in Kuta, including "Made in Kuta".
  • Saturday — Zumana's Ritual of the Sun.
  • Weekend — Savaya's headliner nights; Sunday — Savaya's "People of the Sun" and Zumana Sunday.

Open-air venues and the weather

All three partner venues are open-air, and each one's terms allow a night to be cancelled for inclement weather. Desa Kitsuné is the one that promises its Garden nights "rain or shine". On an uncertain evening, check the night's page before leaving, travel by car, and keep a second night in your plans. Our rainy season guide has the routine.

Getting in on a January night

  • Guestlist. Each venue runs its own list. Register individually on the night's page and you receive a digital ticket by email. Joining is free; entry is complimentary before the cutoff shown on the night's page, reduced after it (earlier for men at Desa Kitsuné). Registration does not guarantee complimentary entry; mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred.
  • Tickets. Only through the venue's own channel, linked from the night's page.
  • Table. The only reserved space. The venue sets its minimum spend per night; FirstBali books it with the venue, and it is yours once the venue confirms. Any deposit follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation. At Savaya and Zumana, re-entry is only with a table.
  • ID. 21+ with a valid photo ID: a passport or a driver's licence.

A January week in Canggu

Desa Kitsuné suits a January stay well because the whole evening happens in one village: dinner at Ina Ré, then the party in the Garden on the same grounds, Tuesday or Friday. Café Kitsuné is there by day. Fewer journeys means fewer chances for weather to get in the way. Note that the Desa Kitsuné pool is decorative only: it is not for swimming. See Desa Kitsuné from day to night.

Beyond the partner clubs

For an evening without a club, the catalogue has restaurants and bars across the south, and a night out without clubs gathers ideas. The concierge checks what can be arranged.

How FirstBali helps

Tell the concierge your January dates, your group and which nights interest you. We check each night's terms, book tables with the venues, send the guestlist pages, arrange drivers and tell you only once the venue has confirmed. An assistant answers at any hour, and the team works through the Bali day and evening.

Questions we get asked

+Are Bali clubs open in January?

Yes: the partner venues run their weekly programmes. Being open-air, a single night can be cancelled for inclement weather under each venue's terms.

+Are the first days of January still festive-season nights?

Terms are set per night over the holidays, so check each night's page: some are ticketed only, some have a list.

+Which Bali club goes ahead in the rain?

Desa Kitsuné says its Tuesday and Friday Garden parties happen "rain or shine". Its terms still allow a cancellation for inclement weather.

+Can I swim at Desa Kitsuné?

No. Its pool is decorative only.

+Is entry guaranteed if I register on the guestlist?

No. The venues state that registration does not guarantee complimentary entry; management decides at the door.
