Open-air clubs in Bali: dancing under the sky

Bali's biggest club nights happen outdoors: Savaya on a clifftop in Uluwatu, Zumana's open-air dance floor in Kuta, Desa Kitsuné's garden in Canggu. What to expect, wear and bring.

In Bali, the big club nights take place outdoors. Savaya dances on a clifftop above the Indian Ocean in Uluwatu, Zumana has an open-air dance floor on the beach at Sunset Bay in Kuta, and Desa Kitsuné turns its garden in Canggu into the party every Tuesday and Friday, rain or shine. If you picture a club as a dark room with a roof, the island will surprise you: the sky is part of the set.

Why Bali dances outside

Warm nights all year and a coastline of cliffs and beaches have shaped the island's nightlife. Many evenings begin at sunset with the light still on the water, and the night carries on under the stars on the same dance floor. The three Savaya Group venues are each a different kind of outdoors: a cliff, a beach and a garden.

Savaya: on the cliff

Savaya sits in Pecatu, 100 metres above the Indian Ocean, between jungle and limestone cliffs, with pools and The Cube, the landmark that frames its horizon. DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs named it the number-one club in Asia three years running (2024–2026) and fifth in the world in 2026. Last Light, every Monday, is a sunset set from The Cube; weekends mostly bring international headliners. More on the setting in the Bali clifftop club guide.

Zumana: on the beach

Zumana, a Savaya Group property opened in August 2026 and designed by Rockwell Group, is laid out around beachfront daybeds, poolside spaces, bars and an open-air dance floor. Its centrepiece is ZENÍA, "The Eternal Host", a 10-metre sculpture by Daniel Popper made with Balinese artisans from Ubud. Saturday's Ritual of the Sun is the night most clearly built around the sky.

Desa Kitsuné: in a garden

Desa Kitsuné is a lifestyle village in the heart of Canggu, set in a 5,000 m² garden. Every Tuesday and Friday the Garden becomes the party, "rain or shine": guest DJs on Tuesdays, Bali-based DJs on Fridays. Its pool is decorative, so think of it as a garden night, not a swim. See the Bali garden party guide.

What the open air changes

  1. The weather is on the bill. In the wet season a shower can pass through the evening. Desa Kitsuné states its parties go ahead rain or shine; for the others, read Savaya in the rain and Zumana in the rain.
  2. Sunset sets the mood. A night that starts in daylight feels different from one that starts after dark, so choose the session as well as the venue.
  3. Space matters. A table is the only reserved space; on a busy night it is also your base, out of the crowd. Its minimum spend is set by the venue per night.
  4. The sound is part of the place. Open-air venues still take music seriously; what changes is that you hear it with the sea or the garden around you.

What to wear and bring

  • Smart casual, built for warmth: light fabrics, and shoes you can stand in. Zumana and Desa Kitsuné refuse flip-flops; Desa Kitsuné also refuses hard-sole shoes and boots. See the Bali club dress code.
  • ID: all three are 21+ with a valid photo ID, passport or driving licence.
  • Travel light: Savaya is cashless, bags are searched, lockers are limited and luggage is not accepted. Club bags and lockers has the detail.
  • A layer for the ride home: the night air after a long evening can feel cooler than the afternoon.

Open air in the daytime too

If you prefer the sun to the stars, Bali's beach clubs are open-air by nature. Luna Beach Club is perched on the cliffs of the Tabanan coast inside Nuanu Creative City, with DJs through sunset and fire and light shows in the evening. El Kabron, on the Pecatu cliffs, runs sunset parties with DJs and live musicians. The best beach clubs in Bali covers the rest.

Getting in

Guestlists are the venues' own: you register yourself, free of charge, for each night on its page, and a list never guarantees entry; free entry runs before the cutoff shown on that page. Some nights are ticketed only. A table is yours once the venue confirms it, and any deposit follows the venue's terms.

Tell the concierge which night you have in mind: FirstBali sends the guestlist link or books the table with the venue. An assistant answers at any hour, and the team through the Bali day and evening; a car with driver can wait to take you home.
