Bali's clifftop club is Savaya, in Pecatu on the Bukit peninsula, set 100 metres above the Indian Ocean between jungle and limestone cliffs. DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs named it the number-one club in Asia three years running (2024–2026) and fifth in the world in 2026. Other venues share the island's cliffs, from El Kabron's sunset parties to AYANA's Rock Bar in Jimbaran, but if you want a full club night with the ocean below, Savaya is the one.

What makes the cliff different

On a cliff, the horizon is the stage. The sun goes down over open water, the light changes the whole room, and the night that follows keeps the sense of space. The Bukit peninsula, at the southern tip of Bali, is where most of the island's clifftop venues stand, around Uluwatu, Pecatu, Ungasan and Jimbaran.

Savaya: the club on the cliff

Savaya is built around pools and The Cube, the landmark that frames its horizon. It is open daily: Last Light every Monday, a sunset set from The Cube; nights through the week; Sundays with People of the Sun; and international headliners at weekends.

How to make the most of the setting:

  1. Choose sunset or night. A sunset session shows you the cliff in daylight; a headliner night is about the dance floor. Savaya at sunset or at night compares the two.
  2. Decide where you stand. A table is the only reserved space at Savaya; its minimum spend is set by the venue per night and includes food and beverage credit on Savaya's map. Tickets are primarily for standing room.
  3. Check the night's terms. Some nights have a guestlist, free to join and registered individually on the night's page; others are ticketed only. A list never guarantees entry.

Before you go to Savaya

  • 21+ with a valid photo ID: a passport or a driving licence.
  • Cashless: bring a card.
  • Travel light: bags are searched, lockers are limited, and luggage and outside food or drink are not accepted.
  • Re-entry is only possible with a table.
  • Dress: smart casual; see the Savaya dress code.

El Kabron stands on the limestone cliffs of Pecatu in Uluwatu, above the Indian Ocean, and has been open since 2011. It has three parts: the Hedonism Lounge, an adults-only infinity-pool area with daybeds and sofas; the Sunset Theater at the cliff edge, set up for sunset dinners; and a Mediterranean restaurant serving seafood, oysters, paella and steak. Its sunset parties bring DJs with live saxophone, violin and trumpet, with the White Sunset Party, the Afro House Sunset Party and pool parties among the weekly regulars.

Rock Bar is AYANA Bali's cliffside bar in Jimbaran, stretching some 270 metres along the rocks above the ocean, with 880 seats spread over 22 areas. Guests reach it by inclinator, watch the sun set over the sea, then stay as the DJs play on. The bar pours cocktails inspired by the colours of the sea alongside Mediterranean tapas built on Jimbaran Bay seafood. Non-resident visitors can reserve; the Round Deck is kept for villa guests and the Top Bar for hotel guests. Payment by card or QR only.

White Rock Beach Club sits on Melasti Beach in Ungasan, near Uluwatu, at the end of the cliff. Guests settle on daybeds, sofas or cabanas around a lagoon pool and a rock pool; families have a kids' pool and a kids' menu. There is a spa, a large covered restaurant serving local and international dishes, and enclosed, air-conditioned party suites overlooking the pool and the ocean. Resident DJs play every day, and foam parties run at weekends. The club also hosts weddings and events.

Luna Beach Club is perched on the cliffs of the Tabanan coast, inside Nuanu Creative City by Nyanyi Beach, west of Canggu. Its bamboo architecture by Inspiral Architects won a Silver award for sustainable and green architecture at the 2024 International Architecture & Design Awards. The complex brings together two pools, jumping platforms and a water slide, Restaurant 369, the Utopia Cave Club and the Gardenia bamboo tree pods. DJs play through sunset, and evenings bring fire and light shows.

A clifftop evening, put together

  1. Late afternoon on a cliff: El Kabron's Sunset Theater or Rock Bar for the sun going down.
  2. Dinner nearby: Uluwatu restaurants lists options on the Bukit.
  3. The night at Savaya: a headliner or a weeknight, depending on the date.
  4. The ride home: booked in advance, so nobody is left waiting at the end of a long night on the Bukit.
