Reunion trip to Bali: planning days for old friends
A reunion trip to Bali for old friends: one base, one long dinner together, one shared night at Desa Kitsuné, Zumana or Savaya, and free time in between, arranged by FirstBali's concierge.
Updated October 23, 2026 · 4 min read

A reunion trip to Bali works when it has a few fixed moments and plenty of space between them: one base where everyone stays, one long dinner where the group catches up, and one shared night out — a garden party at Desa Kitsuné, a sunset at Zumana or a clifftop night at Savaya. FirstBali books the villa enquiry, the tables and the drivers with each venue, and nothing is confirmed until the venue confirms it.

What makes a reunion different
Old friends meeting after years rarely want the same day. Some have children at home and want to sleep, some want every night out, some want a surf lesson or a spa. A reunion plan that forces everyone into everything wears thin by the third day. The answer is to fix only what matters — arriving, the dinner, the night, the farewell — and leave the rest open. For one-occasion trips, see a girls' trip or a bachelor party.
One base for everyone
A shared villa keeps the group together without a schedule: breakfast together, a pool in the afternoon, and nobody waiting in a lobby. Choose the area for the night you have in mind. Canggu and Berawa put Desa Kitsuné and the beach clubs close by; Uluwatu puts you near Savaya and the cliffs. Tell the concierge the group size and the dates, and FirstBali checks what can be arranged. See a group villa in Bali and where to stay in Bali.
The reunion dinner
This is the evening the trip is really for: everyone at one table, long enough to talk. A private room helps. Ina Ré, the restaurant of Desa Kitsuné in Canggu, has private dining rooms for groups and a menu made for sharing — paellas, ceviches, wood-fired meats — by Chilean executive chef Cristian Encina. On a Tuesday or Friday, the garden party starts a short walk away, so the dinner can turn into the night for those who want it. See a group dinner in Bali.
The shared night out
Pick one night that the whole group goes to, and choose it for the group, not for its loudest member.
- Desa Kitsuné, Canggu. A garden party every Tuesday and Friday, rain or shine: guest DJs on Tuesdays, Bali-based DJs on Fridays. The relaxed choice for a mixed group.
- Zumana, Kuta. The Savaya Group's beach club at Sunset Bay, with Ritual of the Sun on Saturdays and its own restaurant, Manuza: arrive for the sunset, stay for the night.
- Savaya, Uluwatu. The clifftop club Savaya reports DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs named the number-one club in Asia from 2024 to 2026; Last Light on Mondays, headliners at weekends.
The three are compared in Savaya, Zumana and Desa Kitsuné compared.
For a group, a table is worth it: it is the only reserved space, a place to sit and talk when the music is loud, and at Savaya and Zumana the only way to step out and come back. The venue sets its minimum spend for each night, and on the Savaya and Zumana maps it includes food and beverage credit. The table is yours once the venue confirms it; any deposit follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation. Friends who prefer the guestlist each register individually on the night's page and get a digital ticket by email; registration does not guarantee entry, and mixed groups are strongly preferred.
Days apart, on purpose
- A beach club afternoon for those who want sun and a daybed: see a beach club daybed.
- A boat day for a smaller group: see a private boat to Nusa Penida.
- Ubud for those who want rice terraces and quiet: see a day trip to Ubud.
- A spa for the morning after: see a spa day.
Meet again at the villa for dinner, and nobody feels they missed out.
Practical points
- Everyone brings ID. The three clubs are 21+ with a valid passport or driver's licence, every person, every night.
- Pack one smart casual outfit for the shared night and the dinner.
- Drivers rather than scooters when the group moves at night: see a driver for a night out.
- Arrivals at odd hours. Flights land through the day and night; plan transfers per person.
- The door decides. Management has the final word, booking or not.
How FirstBali arranges it
Tell the concierge the dates, how many are coming and when each person lands. FirstBali asks about a villa, books the dinner and the table with the venues, sends the guestlist link when a night has one, and adds cars with drivers. An assistant answers at any hour, the team through the Bali day and evening.

Fix a few moments — one base, one long dinner, one shared night out — and leave the days in between free for each person.

Ina Ré, at Desa Kitsuné in Canggu, has private dining rooms for groups. FirstBali asks for your date.

+What ID does everyone need?
A valid passport or driver's licence for each person: Savaya, Zumana and Desa Kitsuné are 21+.
