Desa Kitsuné vs Luna: garden party or clifftop beach club?

Desa Kitsuné throws a 21+ garden party in Canggu on Tuesdays and Fridays; Luna is a clifftop beach club at Nuanu in Tabanan with pools, a slide and a cave club. What each offers.

Updated November 8, 2026 · 4 min read

Desa Kitsuné and Luna are both close to Canggu, and both mix music with somewhere to eat, but they offer different things. Desa Kitsuné is a lifestyle village in the heart of Canggu by the Savaya Group and Maison Kitsuné, whose Garden becomes a 21+ party every Tuesday and Friday, rain or shine. Luna Beach Club is perched on the cliffs of the Tabanan coast, inside Nuanu Creative City by Nyanyi Beach, west of Canggu, with two pools, jumping platforms, a water slide and a cave club. FirstBali arranges both through the concierge.

The short answer

  • A party night in a garden: Desa Kitsuné, on Tuesdays with guest DJs and on Fridays with Bali-based DJs.
  • A day in the water: Luna, with two pools, jumping platforms and a water slide.
  • Dinner and the party on the same grounds: Desa Kitsuné, where Ina Ré shares the village.
  • Sunset music, then shows: Luna, where DJs play through sunset and evenings bring fire and light shows.

The setting

Desa Kitsuné — desa means village — is a garden in Canggu, shared by Café Kitsuné, the Ina Ré restaurant and a Maison Kitsuné boutique. On party nights the Garden is the dance floor. There is a pool on the grounds, but it is decorative: nobody swims at Desa Kitsuné, and the night is about the garden and the music.

Luna is on the clifftop in bamboo architecture by Inspiral Architects, which won a Silver award for sustainable and green architecture at the International Architecture & Design Awards. Beside the pools are its restaurant, the Utopia Cave Club and the Gardenia bamboo tree pods. Here, the water is part of the day.

When each one happens

Desa Kitsuné parties on two nights a week, Tuesday and Friday, and goes ahead rain or shine — see Desa Kitsuné in the rain and the Tuesday and Friday guide. Each night has its own page and terms on the events page.

Luna builds its day around sunset and the evening shows. Its programme is its own; the concierge checks it for your date.

Getting in

Desa Kitsuné parties are 21+ with a valid photo ID, passport or driver's licence, and the dress code is smart casual. Many nights have a guestlist run by the venue itself: each guest registers on the night's page, joining is free, and entry is complimentary before the cutoff shown on that page, with an earlier cutoff for men. Registration does not guarantee complimentary entry, and the venue states that mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred. Some nights are ticketed only. More in the Desa Kitsuné guestlist guide.

Luna sets its own entry terms; the concierge checks them before you go.

Reserved space

At Desa Kitsuné, a table is the only reserved space. The venue sets its minimum spend per night, the flyer's Table button opens that night's table map, and FirstBali books with the venue. The table is yours once the venue confirms it; any deposit follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation. See the Desa Kitsuné table booking guide.

At Luna, ask the concierge what can be reserved for your date, poolside or in the Gardenia tree pods. Nothing is confirmed until the club confirms it.

Food

Desa Kitsuné has Ina Ré on the grounds and Café Kitsuné for the daytime, so dinner before the party needs no second address — see Desa Kitsuné and Ina Ré. Luna has its restaurant within the complex, so lunch, the pools and the evening shows can share one clifftop.

Can you do both?

On a Tuesday or a Friday, a day at Luna and the garden party at Desa Kitsuné can share a date. Bring swimwear for Luna and change into smart casual for the evening, keeping your ID with you. A driver who waits makes the move simpler — see the private driver guide — and the concierge checks what can be arranged for both.

Which one fits your plan

  • Desa Kitsuné offers a night: a garden party twice a week with guest or Bali-based DJs, Ina Ré on site and a venue-run guestlist on many nights.
  • Luna offers a clifftop day: two pools, jumping platforms, a water slide, a cave club, tree pods and fire and light shows after sunset.

Tell the concierge the date, how many you are and what you have in mind. The team checks what can be arranged and comes back with the venue's terms. An assistant answers at any hour, the team through the Bali day and evening.
