A date night in Nusa Dua is built around dinner. The area has no nightclub of its own in our catalogue, so the evening is either a long dinner by the sea, at Le Bleu on Nusa Dua Beach or at The Apurva Kempinski on the cliffs, or a dinner followed by a drive to Savaya or Zumana. Decide which before you book, and the concierge arranges the rest.

Two kinds of evening

Nusa Dua is a resort enclave, and its evenings are calm by design. That suits a date: the question is only whether the night ends at the table or carries on somewhere louder. If you are staying in the area and want a quiet evening, everything happens within it. If one of you wants to dance, plan the dinner as the first half of the night and book the car with it.

Le Bleu by K Club is a beachfront restaurant and beach club on Nusa Dua Beach, in the ITDC resort area. The look is the French Riviera by way of Bali, all blue and white, with sunbeds, cabanas, terraces and an indoor dining room, so there is a choice between dining outside and dining under a roof. The kitchen leans on seafood, from lobster linguine to yellowfin tuna tataki, with vegetarian and vegan options if one of you does not eat fish.

Le Bleu by K Club is a beachfront restaurant and beach club on Nusa Dua Beach, in the ITDC resort area, run by the K-Club Group. The look is French Riviera by way of Bali, all blue and white, with sunbeds, cabanas, terraces and an indoor dining room. The kitchen leans on seafood, from lobster linguine to yellowfin tuna tataki, with vegetarian and vegan options. The weekly programme mixes yoga, cocktail workshops, beach games and festive Sunday gatherings with a DJ.

Dinner on the cliffs: The Apurva Kempinski

The Apurva Kempinski Bali is a resort on the cliffs of Nusa Dua, facing the Indian Ocean, with dining spread across several venues. For a date, three stand out:

  • Koral, which the hotel presents as Bali's first aquarium restaurant, serves set and tasting menus beside the tanks, and is adults only at dinner.
  • Izakaya by OKU, a sister to OKU in Jakarta, for Japanese plates in a more relaxed register.
  • L'Atelier by Cyril Kongo, a lounge with ocean views and Mediterranean tapas, which works as the place for a drink after dinner.

Evening one: dinner and a last drink

The quiet version needs no car between stops: dinner at Koral, then a drink at L'Atelier, all within the same resort. At Le Bleu, a long dinner on the terrace is an evening on its own. Either way, the night ends where it started, which is the point of staying in Nusa Dua.

Evening two: dinner, then Savaya

If the date should end on a dance floor, Savaya is on the clifftop in Pecatu, Uluwatu, set above the Indian Ocean, with pools and The Cube framing its horizon. DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs named it the number-one club in Asia three years running and fifth in the world, per the venue. It is open daily, with Last Light every Monday and international headliners at weekends. Strictly 21+, smart casual, so dress for the club when you dress for dinner.

Evening three: dinner, then Zumana

Zumana is a Savaya Group beach club at Sunset Bay in Kuta, designed by Rockwell Group around beachfront daybeds, poolside spaces, bars and an open-air dance floor, with its own restaurant, Manuza. Entry for two

Both clubs run their own guestlists: each of you registers individually on the night's page, linked from the flyer on /events, and receives a digital ticket by email. Joining is free; entry is complimentary before the cutoff shown on the night's page and reduced after. Registration does not guarantee entry, which the venue decides, and the venues say mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred. Some nights are ticketed only. Bring a valid photo ID each, a passport or a driver's licence.

A table is the only reserved space. Its minimum spend is set by the venue for the night; the concierge books it with the venue, it is yours once the venue confirms it, and any deposit follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation.

The car

Nusa Dua sits away from the clubs, so a driver who waits through dinner and the club saves you from finding a ride late at night. The concierge can book one; see a driver for your night out.
