Going to Savaya alone: a solo night on the cliff

You can go to Savaya on your own: you register individually, like everyone. But the venue prefers mixed groups and couples, so a solo guest has no special claim at the door. How to plan it.

Yes, you can go to Savaya on your own. Every guest registers individually on the night's guestlist, so a solo traveller signs up exactly like anyone else, and the music is the point of the night. Be clear about one thing, though: Savaya's terms say mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred, so arriving alone gives you no special claim, and management has the last word at the door.

The calendar above lists Savaya's coming nights, with a Guestlist button where the night has a list and a Table button on every night. Alone, the night you pick matters even more.

What the door means for a solo guest

Nothing in Savaya's terms turns away a guest for coming alone. What they do say is that couples and mixed groups are strongly preferred, that registration on the guestlist does not guarantee complimentary entry, and that management decides. Put the rest of the odds on your side: ID in hand (a valid passport or driver's licence; the club is strictly 21+), an outfit that passes the Savaya dress code, sober, and well before the cutoff shown on the night's page.

If a definite place matters, a table is the only reserved space. It is a lot of space for one person, but it is the one way in that does not depend on the door's mood that evening. Ask the concierge what the night's map offers.

Choosing your night alone

  • Last Light, every Monday. A "Sunset Set From the Cube": the night is the view and the music, which suits someone who came to watch and listen. See Savaya Last Light.
  • People of the Sun, every Sunday. From golden hour into the night, in the venue's words, at an easier pace than the weekend.
  • Weekday nights. Savaya's own Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.
  • Weekends. International headliners. If you are travelling to Bali for one artist, this is where you will find others who did the same. Note that some nights are ticketed only, with no list; only the venue's official channel sells valid tickets, and they are "primarily for standing room only".

On your own, inside

Savaya draws an international crowd, from more than a hundred and twenty countries by the venue's count, and electronic music is what most of them came for. That makes a solo night on the dance floor less unusual than it sounds. A few things are different when there is no one to hold your place or your bag:

  • Arrive once. Re-entry is only possible with a table. Eat before you come, not halfway through.
  • Pack for one pocket. Savaya is cashless, lockers are limited and first come, first served, and bags are searched. A phone, a card and your ID are enough: see what to bring to Savaya.
  • Keep an eye on your own phone and bag. Nobody else will.
  • Standing room is the norm. General admission seating is limited and first come, first served.

Before the club

A drink with a view before a later arrival is easy alone. El Kabron sits on the cliffs of Pecatu and Rock Bar on the rocks at Jimbaran, and a seat at a bar is a natural place for one.

The way home, settled first

The Bukit is the part of the island where a late ride home matters most. Book a car with a driver before you leave, so the end of the night is decided while you are still clear-headed; getting to Savaya covers the drop-off and the return. Keep 112 in your phone for an emergency. The wider safety basics are in is Bali nightlife safe?

Where FirstBali fits

Tell the concierge the night and where you are staying. FirstBali sends you the link to that night's guestlist page, tells you when a date is ticketed only, books a table with Savaya on your behalf if you want one (yours once the venue confirms it; any deposit follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation), and arranges a car with a driver both ways. An assistant answers at any hour, and the team works through the Bali day and evening.
