Uluwatu group night: sunset, dinner and Savaya

Planning an Uluwatu night for a group: a clifftop sunset at El Kabron or a day at White Rock, then Savaya with a table, everyone's ID and outfit checked, and one ride for all.

For a group in Uluwatu, the night usually has two parts on the clifftops of the Bukit: a sunset with dinner or drinks at El Kabron, or an afternoon at White Rock Beach Club, followed by Savaya in Pecatu. What makes it work for a group is a table at Savaya, every guest carrying photo ID, and one vehicle for everyone.

The shape of an Uluwatu group night

Uluwatu is spread along the cliffs, so a group that improvises tends to split up between venues. Settle the order before you leave the villa:

  1. Afternoon or sunset at a beach club on the cliffs.
  2. Dinner, either at the sunset venue or before the club.
  3. The night at Savaya, with a table if the group wants to stay together.

Sunset: El Kabron or White Rock

El Kabron stands on the limestone cliffs of Pecatu, above the Indian Ocean. It has three parts: the Hedonism Lounge, an adults-only infinity-pool area with daybeds and sofas; the Sunset Theater at the cliff edge, set up for sunset dinners; and a Mediterranean restaurant serving seafood, oysters, paella and steak. Its sunset parties bring DJs with live saxophone, violin and trumpet. For a group that wants dinner and the sunset in one booking, the Sunset Theater is the natural ask.

White Rock Beach Club sits on Melasti Beach in Ungasan, at the end of the cliff. Guests settle on daybeds, sofas or cabanas around a lagoon pool and a rock pool, and it has enclosed, air-conditioned party suites overlooking the pool and the ocean. Resident DJs play every day and foam parties run at weekends. A party suite or a cabana gives a group one space for the afternoon.

El Kabron stands on the limestone cliffs of Pecatu in Uluwatu, above the Indian Ocean, and has been open since 2011. White Rock Beach Club sits on Melasti Beach in Ungasan, near Uluwatu, at the end of the cliff. Guests settle on daybeds, sofas or cabanas around a lagoon pool and a rock pool; families have a kids' pool and a kids' menu. There is a spa, a large covered restaurant serving local and international dishes, and enclosed, air-conditioned party suites overlooking the pool and the ocean. Resident DJs play every day, and foam parties run at weekends. The club also hosts weddings and events.

The night at Savaya

Savaya is the clifftop club in Pecatu, set high above the Indian Ocean around The Cube. DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs named it the number-one club in Asia from 2024 to 2026 and fifth in the world in 2026, according to DJ Mag and Savaya. The week has a shape: Last Light every Monday, with a sunset set from The Cube; weekday nights; international headliners at weekends; and People of the Sun on Sundays. For a group, three of Savaya's terms matter most:

  • A table is the only reserved space, and re-entry is only with a table. Its minimum spend is set by the venue per night, and the map includes food and beverage credit.
  • Tickets are primarily for standing room only, in the venue's words: fine for dancing, not for a group that wants a base.
  • On a guestlist, each person registers individually on the night's page, and mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred. Registration does not guarantee entry; management decides.

Every person, every rule

A group is only as fast as its slowest member at the door:

  • 21+ and photo ID for every guest: a passport or a driver's licence.
  • Smart casual for every outfit; see the Savaya dress code.
  • Cashless, bags searched, limited lockers, no luggage and no outside food or drink. Leave the beach bags in the vehicle or at the villa.

Moving the group along the cliffs

Several scooters or separate cars arrive at different moments, and a scattered group is harder at any door. One van or minibus with a driver, booked for the whole evening, takes the group from the sunset venue to dinner, to Savaya and home. If the group wants another area

Not every group wants the Bukit. Zumana, the Savaya Group's beach club at Sunset Bay in Kuta, puts the daybed, dinner at Manuza and the dance floor at one address; Desa Kitsuné holds its garden parties in Canggu on Tuesdays and Fridays.
