Zumana vs Atlas: which Bali beach club to choose?

Zumana is Savaya's designed sunset club at Sunset Bay in Kuta, 21+, with named nights. Atlas in Berawa sells sheer scale: a vast pool, beanbags, shows and a nightclub next door.

Zumana and Atlas are two beachfront clubs with very different ideas of a good day. Zumana, at Sunset Bay in Kuta, is the Savaya Group's beach club: a designed setting, 21+, with a week of named nights and a guestlist run by the venue. Atlas, on Berawa Beach in Canggu, bills itself as the world's biggest beach club and sells scale: a vast pool, beanbags on the sand, daily shows and a nightclub at the same address. Choose Zumana for a curated sunset-to-night, Atlas for spectacle and room for a large, mixed group. FirstBali books both through the concierge.

The short answer

  • A sunset with a DJ and a night with a theme: Zumana, with Ritual of the Sun on Saturdays and Zumana Sunday.
  • A big group with different tastes: Atlas, whose site is large enough for everyone to find a corner.
  • Adults only: Zumana, which is 21+. Atlas publishes no child policy on its beach club pages, so ask first.
  • Activities beyond the pool: Atlas, with its shows, padel court and flying fox.
  • A club proper after dark on the same address: Atlas, with its Super Club. At Zumana, the beach itself becomes the night.
  • Staying in the south: Zumana, in Kuta. Staying in Canggu: Atlas, in Berawa.

Setting

Zumana was designed by Rockwell Group around beachfront daybeds, poolside spaces, bars and an open-air dance floor. Its centrepiece is ZENÍA, "The Eternal Host", a sculpture by Daniel Popper made with Balinese artisans from Ubud. It opened in August 2026 and sits in the same family as Savaya and Desa Kitsuné, which shows in how the nights are run. Read the story of ZENÍA.

Atlas is a Holywings Group venue and makes its size the point. A vast pool sits at the centre, beanbags line the sand facing the sea, and the pool bar is built across two levels. Seats are split into zones, from The Deck restaurant overlooking the beach to Party Side in front of the stage.

The kind of day

At Zumana, the day is the build-up and the sunset is the turning point. The venue describes its evening in its own words: "When the sun drops, the shore transforms. The music rises, the energy deepens." Each night has a name and a programme: Ritual of the Sun on Saturdays, Zumana Sunday, headliner nights and a weeknight rotation that includes Made in Kuta.

At Atlas, the day is a festival. DJs play through the afternoon, and daily shows draw on the four elements, water, air, fire and earth. A beachfront padel court and a flying fox add to it. The Atlas Super Club, which Atlas calls the biggest nightclub in Bali, takes over for those who want to carry on indoors.

Door and dress

Zumana is 21+ with a valid photo ID (passport or driver's licence), smart casual, and re-entry is only for guests with a table. Atlas has no child policy on its beach club pages, which is why families should ask before planning a day there; the family-friendly beach clubs guide names clubs that publish one. For what to wear at either, see the beach club dress code.

Guestlist, day pass and tables

Zumana runs its own guestlist. You register individually on the night's page and receive a digital ticket by email. Joining is free; entry is complimentary before the cutoff shown on the night's page and reduced after. Registration does not guarantee complimentary entry, mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred, and some nights are ticketed only. A table is the only reserved space, with a minimum spend set by the venue per night that its map says includes food and beverage credit. Details in the Zumana guestlist and Zumana table booking.

Atlas sets its daybeds and sofas by zone and also sells a day pass with pool access. The terms depend on the zone, the day and the event.

At both, nothing is yours until the venue confirms it, and any deposit follows the venue's terms without being a confirmation.

Food and drink

Zumana's restaurant is Manuza, with service to the daybeds and tables. Atlas puts its dining at The Deck, with a menu from local flavours to international favourites from lunch to a golden-hour dinner, and the pool bar serving the sand and the water.

Which one for which group

  • A couple: Zumana, for the sunset and a night with a shape. More in Zumana for couples.
  • Friends who want the party: either, on the right night. Zumana's named nights or Atlas's shows and Super Club.
  • A large group: Atlas for sheer room; Zumana with a table, which is also what allows re-entry.
