Birthday dinner in Bali: where to book the table

A birthday dinner in Bali, by the size of the table: Ina Ré's private rooms at Desa Kitsuné, Sardine's ricefield terrace, part of Giselle, Koral for two, and a club table after.

Updated October 26, 2026 · 4 min read

For a birthday dinner in Bali, choose by the size of the table. For a group that wants its own room, Ina Ré at Desa Kitsuné in Canggu has private dining rooms with tailored menus for special occasions. For a larger party, Sardine in Seminyak hosts private events on its terrace and ricefield area, and Giselle in Canggu can reserve part of the restaurant. For two, Koral in Nusa Dua has tunnel tables beside its aquarium. If the night goes on, Desa Kitsuné, Zumana and Savaya are the clubs. FirstBali books through the concierge.

A dinner, not a party

Some birthdays want a dance floor; others want a long table and the people who matter. This guide is for the second kind. For a whole day built around a birthday, read a birthday party in Bali; for a club table, the venue guides: a birthday at Savaya, at Zumana and at Desa Kitsuné.

A private room: Ina Ré, Canggu

Ina Ré is the restaurant of Desa Kitsuné, the village the Savaya Group created with Maison Kitsuné. Chilean executive chef Cristian Encina brings together Mediterranean flavours and Latin American street food: paellas to share, ceviches, tacos, empanadas and wood-fired meats. Its private dining rooms, which the restaurant describes as "perfect for special occasions or intimate gatherings", come with tailored menus, and the room draws on Balinese arts and crafts. On a Tuesday or a Friday, the garden next door becomes the Desa Kitsuné party, rain or shine; the party is a separate booking. See Ina Ré private dining.

A big table: Sardine, Giselle, BELLA, Akar

  • Sardine, Seminyak: the K-Club Group's seafood restaurant over the rice paddies hosts private events on its terrace, in its dining area and in its ricefield area; Les Toilettes, the club on site, is there if the birthday wants a late night.
  • Giselle, Canggu: a Mediterranean house with a dining room and a courtyard, where part of the restaurant can be reserved for a group; Club 55 takes over after dinner on Friday and Saturday nights.
  • BELLA, Berawa: a wood-fired menu for sharing, available for private hire for special occasions.
  • Akar, north of Ubud: K Club's jungle steakhouse offers exclusive venue hire; on Friday and Saturday nights dinner turns festive with live DJs, dancers and a laser show.
Ina Ré

Ina Ré

Restaurants · Canggu

Ina Ré is the restaurant of Desa Kitsuné, the lifestyle village on Jalan Munduk Catu in Canggu. Chilean executive chef Cristian Encina brings together Mediterranean flavours and Latin American street food: paellas to share, ceviches, tacos, empanadas and wood-fired meats such as the Stockyard tomahawk. The space draws on Balinese arts and crafts, with handmade materials, weavings and traditional motifs, and includes private dining rooms for groups. Sunday brunch has its own menu, and so do Courtyard Saturdays.

Sardine

Sardine

Restaurants · Seminyak

Sardine by K-Club is a seafood restaurant on Jalan Petitenget in Seminyak, set in an open-air bamboo building that looks over a stretch of rice paddies, with a terrace for lunch or dinner. The kitchen cooks the daily catch (yellowfin tuna, scallops, snapper) in a modern Mediterranean style, with vegetables from its own farms and a vegetarian set menu. Evenings can run late: Les Toilettes, the hidden club on site, hosts DJs, and once a month The Gates of Bali brings fire dancers and aerial acts.

Giselle

Giselle

Restaurants · Canggu

Giselle is a Mediterranean restaurant on Jalan Tanah Barak in Canggu, created by a group of friends with deep roots in hospitality, who call it “a house for friends, strangers, and stories”. The mood is the Riviera brought to Bali, across a dining room and a courtyard. Seafood leads the menu, with crudos, a seafood platter, sea bream sashimi and flambéed fish, alongside homemade pasta and plates for sharing, built on local, responsibly sourced ingredients. On Friday and Saturday nights, Club 55 takes over after dinner.

BELLA

BELLA

Restaurants · Berawa

BELLA is a contemporary Mediterranean and Middle Eastern restaurant on Jalan Pantai Berawa, run by The SEN Group. Executive chef Oğuz Karadoğan, formerly of Lokanta 1741 in Istanbul, cooks a wood-fired menu made for sharing: lamb meatballs in rich tomato sauce with Hokkaido bread, a Mediterranean ceviche of seabass, kefir and gremolata, a whole roasted cauliflower with tahini. The room is built around an open kitchen, a long bar and a DJ booth, and the evening turns into a party, with weekly Taverna nights and Kitchen Party.

A table for two: Koral, Nusa Dua

For a birthday shared by two, Koral at The Apurva Kempinski has tunnel tables beside its aquarium, valid for two adults aged 17 and above and paid in full to book. Dinner there is adults only and smart casual, and it serves a signature degustation menu; see tasting menus in Bali.

When the dinner becomes a night out

If the birthday wants more after dessert, the clubs:

  • Zumana, Kuta: its restaurant, Manuza, is on the same beach as the dance floor, so dinner and the night share one site. Ritual of the Sun on Saturdays, headliners on Wednesdays and Fridays.
  • Desa Kitsuné, Canggu: the garden party every Tuesday and Friday, on the same grounds as Ina Ré.
  • Savaya, Uluwatu: Last Light on Mondays, headliners at weekends; Savaya reports that DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs named it number one in Asia from 2024 to 2026.

A table is the only reserved space at these clubs, and its minimum spend is set by the venue per night. All three are 21+ with a valid passport or driver's licence, so check that every guest has one before you book. Some nights have a guestlist with a cutoff shown on the night's page; others are ticketed only.

Cake, candles, a speech

Tell the restaurant it is a birthday when you book. Whether you can bring a cake, whether the kitchen makes one, and whether decoration is allowed are the restaurant's decisions: the concierge asks and passes on the answer. Keep any surprise between you and the concierge, and give the guest of honour's diet too.

How to book

  1. Count the guests, then choose the room: private, part of a restaurant, or a table for two.
  2. Send the diets with the request.
  3. Decide on a club before dinner, so the dinner can be timed for it.
  4. Book a driver for the group through transport.

Where FirstBali fits

FirstBali asks the restaurant and, if you want, the club; each is yours once the venue confirms it, and any deposit follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation. FirstBali checks what can be arranged for the occasion. An assistant answers at any hour, the team through the Bali day and evening.
