Chill night in Bali: relaxed evenings with music
A chill night in Bali: a sunset set at Savaya, a daybed at Zumana, Desa Kitsuné's garden in Canggu, a speakeasy or a beachfront lounge. How to keep the music and lose the rush.
Updated October 26, 2026 · 4 min read

For a chill night in Bali, choose an open-air setting and an early start: a sunset set, a daybed or a garden rather than a dark room late at night. Savaya's Last Light on Mondays, a daybed at Zumana at Sunset Bay, Desa Kitsuné's garden in Canggu and a few lounges and cocktail bars give you the music without the rush. The concierge can reserve the spot and the car.
What makes a night feel relaxed
Four things matter more than the venue's name:
- The setting: open air, a view, somewhere to sit.
- The timing: a night that peaks around the sunset leaves the rest of the evening free.
- A reserved spot: a daybed or a table means you are not standing all night looking for a place.
- One area: staying in the same part of the island for sunset, dinner and drinks keeps the evening unhurried, which is why Desa Kitsuné's village and Zumana's restaurant, Manuza, work so well for this.
Sunset sets: the easiest chill night
Last Light at Savaya
Every Monday, Savaya runs Last Light, a sunset set from The Cube on its clifftop in Pecatu, above the Indian Ocean, between jungle and limestone cliffs. It is the same venue as the weekend headliner nights, in a different mood. See Savaya Last Light and Savaya: sunset or night.
Zumana at Sunset Bay
Zumana, the Savaya Group's beach club in Kuta, is built around beachfront daybeds, poolside spaces, bars and an open-air dance floor, with ZENÍA, a sculpture by Daniel Popper, at its centre. Ritual of the Sun runs on Saturdays and Zumana Sunday every week. A daybed is the natural way to stay put: see Zumana daybed.

A garden instead of a dance floor
Desa Kitsuné is a lifestyle village in Canggu, set in a garden by the Savaya Group with the brand Maison Kitsuné. On Tuesdays and Fridays the garden becomes the party, rain or shine: guest DJs on Tuesdays, Bali-based DJs on Fridays. A chill version of the night is dinner at Ina Ré, in the village, before you walk into the garden — and you can leave whenever you like without crossing the island. One note: the pool at Desa Kitsuné is decorative, not for swimming.

Lounges and bars where conversation wins
When the music should stay in the background:
- [The Shady Pig](/venues/the-shady-pig) in Berawa, a speakeasy behind an unmarked door, where you need the password to get in; the cocktails lean experimental.
- [Regent Bali Canggu](/venues/regent-bali-canggu), where The Beach House pairs its pool and the ocean breeze with craft cocktails.
- [The Apurva Kempinski](/venues/the-apurva-kempinski) in Nusa Dua, with L'Atelier by Cyril Kongo, a lounge with ocean views.
- [Rock Bar](/venues/rock-bar), AYANA's bar on the rocks of Jimbaran, where guests watch the sun set and stay on as the DJs play.
The Shady Pig
Bars · Berawa
The Shady Pig is a speakeasy on Jalan Pantai Berawa and the original bar of The Shady Family, the group behind The Shady Fox, The Shady Flamingo and The Shady Bunny. The theme is 1920s Birmingham bootleggers: the bar hides behind an unmarked door, and you need the password to get in. Cocktails lean experimental, using distillation, barrel ageing and fermentation, from the Shelby to a barrel-aged Negroni. Small plates, pinchos and sandwiches come with the drinks, and DJs take over later in the night.
Regent Bali Canggu
Restaurants · Canggu
Regent Bali Canggu is IHG's beachfront resort on Batu Bolong, on Canggu's southwest coast, and the first Regent in Indonesia. Designed by WATG with interiors by HBA, it has 150 rooms and suites. Two of its restaurants are led by Chef Andrew Walsh: Sazón, a Mediterranean neighbourhood hideaway, and CURE Bali, European cooking shaped by Asian flavours. The Beach House pairs its pool and ocean breeze with craft cocktails and seafood, and the resort is home to the first Regent Spa & Wellness.
The Apurva Kempinski
Restaurants · Nusa Dua
The Apurva Kempinski Bali is a five-star resort on the cliffs of Nusa Dua, facing the Indian Ocean, and its dining spreads across several venues. Koral, which the hotel presents as Bali's first aquarium restaurant, serves set and tasting menus beside the tanks, adults only at dinner. Izakaya by OKU is a sister to OKU in Jakarta; Reef Beach Club sits on the sand beside a 42-metre infinity pool; Bai Yun serves hot pot and dim sum; L'Atelier by Cyril Kongo is a lounge with ocean views and Mediterranean tapas.
Rock Bar
Bars · Jimbaran
Rock Bar is AYANA Bali's cliffside bar in Jimbaran, stretching some 270 metres along the rocks above the ocean, with 880 seats spread over 22 areas. Guests reach it by inclinator, watch the sun set over the sea, then stay as the DJs play on. The bar pours cocktails inspired by the colours of the sea alongside Mediterranean tapas built on Jimbaran Bay seafood. Non-resident visitors can reserve; the Round Deck is kept for villa guests and the Top Bar for hotel guests. Payment by card or QR only.

A dinner that sets the pace
A long dinner is often the whole point of a chill night. Zai Cafe on Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong in Canggu serves Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes in the evening, with a DJ setting the mood on Fridays. Riviera Berawa has fresh pasta, an extensive wine list and candlelit tables. For other ideas: Bali dinner and club night shows how to pair the two.
Practical points
- Dress: the three Savaya Group venues ask for smart casual. Relaxed does not mean beachwear at night; see Bali club dress code.
- ID: Savaya, Zumana and Desa Kitsuné are 21+ with a passport or driving licence.
- Entry: some nights open a guestlist on the night's page, some are ticketed only. Joining a list is free, entry is complimentary before the cutoff shown on that page and reduced after, and registration does not guarantee entry. Mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred.
- The ride: a driver for the night lets you leave when you are ready rather than when a ride turns up.
How FirstBali helps
Tell the concierge what a relaxed night means to you — a view, a daybed, a garden, a cocktail — and the date. We reserve with the venue on your behalf; a daybed or table is yours once the venue confirms it, and any deposit follows the venue's terms without being a confirmation. An assistant answers at any hour; the team works through the Bali day and evening.

No. Savaya runs Last Light every Monday, a sunset set from The Cube, alongside its weekend headliner nights.
