Bali double date: a night out for two couples
A double date in Bali works best as dinner for four at a sharing table, then one club with one table: Savaya, Zumana or Desa Kitsuné, where couples are strongly preferred at the door.

A double date in Bali is easiest as one evening with one plan: dinner for four at a restaurant built for sharing, then a single club, with one table if you want somewhere to sit together. Savaya, Zumana and Desa Kitsuné all say couples and mixed groups are strongly preferred at the door, which suits two couples. The concierge books the dinner, the club and one car for the four of you.
Why four is an easy number
Two couples are the smallest group that still feels like a party, and the easiest one to move around: one car, one table, one booking at each stop. Four people agree on a plan faster than eight. The only thing to get right is the order of the night, so that nobody arrives at a door after its cutoff because dinner ran long.
Dinner for four: tables made for sharing
Several restaurants in our catalogue describe their menus as built for sharing, which is what a double date needs:
- Jade by Todd English, in Berawa, works around a wood-fire grill on a menu designed for sharing among friends, with a cocktail bar and a mood that shifts as the night goes on, with a daily DJ.
- BELLA, on Jalan Pantai Berawa, cooks a wood-fired Mediterranean and Middle Eastern menu made for sharing, around an open kitchen, a long bar and a DJ booth.
- MiA, on Jalan Raya Semat, serves modern Asian plates for sharing, and describes a table there as made for gathering friends.
- Ina Ré, at Desa Kitsuné in Canggu, has paellas to share, ceviches and wood-fired meats, on the same grounds as the Tuesday and Friday garden party.
Jade by Todd English
Restaurants · Berawa
Jade by Todd English is a Mediterranean restaurant and bar in Berawa, whose culinary direction draws on American chef Todd English, known for his flagship restaurant Olives. The kitchen works around a wood-fire grill, with a focus on local farms and producers, on a menu designed for sharing among friends. The cocktail bar gives its drinks an Asian touch. Warm lighting and earthy tones set the room, and the mood shifts as the night goes on, with a daily DJ and weekly late-night events.
BELLA
Restaurants · Berawa
BELLA is a contemporary Mediterranean and Middle Eastern restaurant on Jalan Pantai Berawa, run by The SEN Group. Executive chef Oğuz Karadoğan, formerly of Lokanta 1741 in Istanbul, cooks a wood-fired menu made for sharing: lamb meatballs in rich tomato sauce with Hokkaido bread, a Mediterranean ceviche of seabass, kefir and gremolata, a whole roasted cauliflower with tahini. The room is built around an open kitchen, a long bar and a DJ booth, and the evening turns into a party, with weekly Taverna nights and Kitchen Party.
MiA
Restaurants · Berawa
MîA is a modern Asian restaurant and bar on Jalan Raya Semat in Tibubeneng, in the Berawa part of Canggu. The menu is built for sharing, pairing Asian heritage with contemporary technique: Wagyu gyoza with karashi, soft-shell crab with amazu ponzu, Chilean sea bass tempura and Thai green curry. Carefully crafted drinks are made to match the food, and the setting blends modern style with traditional touches under the open Bali sky. A table here is made for gathering friends.
Ina Ré
Restaurants · Canggu
Ina Ré is the restaurant of Desa Kitsuné, the lifestyle village on Jalan Munduk Catu in Canggu. Chilean executive chef Cristian Encina brings together Mediterranean flavours and Latin American street food: paellas to share, ceviches, tacos, empanadas and wood-fired meats such as the Stockyard tomahawk. The space draws on Balinese arts and crafts, with handmade materials, weavings and traditional motifs, and includes private dining rooms for groups. Sunday brunch has its own menu, and so do Courtyard Saturdays.

Then one club
Pick the club first and the restaurant near it. The three Savaya Group venues are the ones we put forward:
Savaya, on the Uluwatu clifftop
Savaya is a clifftop club in Pecatu, Uluwatu, above the Indian Ocean, with pools and The Cube framing its horizon. DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs named it the number-one club in Asia three years running and fifth in the world, per the venue. Last Light runs every Monday, international headliners play at weekends, and Sundays are People of the Sun. Strictly 21+, smart casual; cashless, bags searched, limited lockers. Getting in as four
- Everyone registers. The guestlists are the venues' own: each of the four registers individually on the night's page, linked from the flyer on /events, and receives a digital ticket by email.
- Mind the cutoff. Joining is free; entry is complimentary before the cutoff shown on the night's page, reduced after. At Desa Kitsuné the men's cutoff is earlier, so plan dinner backwards from it.
- Arrive together. The venues say mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred, but registration does not guarantee entry: the venue decides.
- ID for all four. Each person needs a valid photo ID, a passport or a driver's licence.
- Some nights are ticketed only, with tickets through the venue's own channel.
One table for the four of you
A table is the only reserved space at these clubs, and it gives two couples a place to come back to. Its minimum spend is set by the venue for the night, and at Savaya and Zumana it includes food and beverage credit. The concierge books it with the venue; it is yours once the venue confirms it, and any deposit follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation. At Savaya and Zumana, re-entry is only with a table.
One car
A driver who waits through dinner and the club keeps the four of you together and means nobody drives. For a little more room, see an Alphard with driver, or a driver for your night out.
How FirstBali arranges it
Tell the concierge your date, the club you have in mind and the kind of dinner the four of you like. We ask the restaurant and the club for availability and terms, book the car, and each booking is yours once the venue confirms it. An assistant answers at any hour, the team through the Bali day and evening.
