Canggu sunset dinner: the light on the beach, then the table
In Canggu, the sunset belongs to the beachfront: watch it from Regent's Beach House or Berawa Beach, then dine at Ina Ré or Giselle, and on Tuesdays or Fridays end in Desa Kitsuné's garden.

A sunset dinner in Canggu is best done in two steps. Canggu's coast faces the sea where the sun goes down, but most of its best dinners are set inland, so watch the light from the beachfront, at Regent Bali Canggu's Beach House or on Berawa Beach, then move to dinner at Ina Ré or Giselle. On a Tuesday or a Friday, the night can end in the garden at Desa Kitsuné. The concierge books the sequence.
Sunset and dinner are two different places
None of the Canggu restaurants FirstBali books is described by its venue as a sunset-view dining room. The venues on the sand are, and they are built for the golden hour: sunbeds, pools, a drink in hand. Treat the sunset as the aperitif and the restaurant as the dinner, and you get both at their best rather than a compromise.
Where to watch the light
Regent Bali Canggu, on Batu Bolong
Regent Bali Canggu is IHG's beachfront resort on Batu Bolong, on Canggu's southwest coast. Its Beach House pairs a pool and the ocean breeze with craft cocktails and seafood, a quieter setting than the beach clubs to watch the evening come in. The resort also has two restaurants led by Chef Andrew Walsh, Sazón, a Mediterranean neighbourhood hideaway, and CURE Bali, European cooking shaped by Asian flavours, so the whole evening can stay on one property. See the Regent Bali Canggu guide.
Berawa Beach: Atlas and Finns
Atlas Beach Club sits on Berawa Beach, with its signature beanbags right on the sand facing the sea and The Deck restaurant overlooking the beach. FINNS Beach Club stretches along the same beachfront under a bamboo structure, adults-only, with pools, swim-up bars, private cabanas and restaurants across the site. Both run a party through the day, so they suit a livelier sunset. Canggu beach clubs compares the coast.
Atlas Beach Club
Beach clubs · Berawa
Atlas Beach Club sits on Berawa Beach and bills itself as the biggest beach club in the world. Its signature beanbags sit right on the sand facing the sea, beside a vast pool and a pool bar where DJs play through the day. Daybeds and sofas are spread across distinct zones, from The Deck restaurant overlooking the beach to the Party Side in front of the stage. Daily shows draw on the four elements, and a beachfront padel court and a 100-metre flying fox complete the site.
Finns Beach Club
Beach clubs · Berawa
FINNS Beach Club stretches along the beachfront at Berawa, in Canggu, under a bamboo structure designed by PBM Architecture. It is adults-only and divided into several party zones, from FINNS Beach Party and FINNS Garden Party to FINNS Grey Goose Party and FINNS VIP Party, with pools, swim-up bars, private cabanas, dance floors and restaurants spread across the site. Resident DJs and live singers keep an all-day party going every day, and the club also hosts private events, birthdays and corporate groups.
Where to have dinner afterwards
Ina Ré, at Desa Kitsuné
Ina Ré is the restaurant of Desa Kitsuné, on Jalan Munduk Catu. Chilean executive chef Cristian Encina brings together Mediterranean flavours and Latin American street food: paellas to share, ceviches, tacos, empanadas and wood-fired meats. The space draws on Balinese arts and crafts, and private dining rooms suit a group. See the Ina Ré guide.
Giselle, on Jalan Tanah Barak
Giselle is a Mediterranean restaurant that calls itself "a house for friends, strangers, and stories", with the Riviera brought to Bali across a dining room and a courtyard. Seafood leads the menu, with crudos, a seafood platter and flambéed fish, alongside homemade pasta. On Friday and Saturday nights, Club 55 takes over after dinner. See the Giselle guide.
Ina Ré
Restaurants · Canggu
Ina Ré is the restaurant of Desa Kitsuné, the lifestyle village on Jalan Munduk Catu in Canggu. Chilean executive chef Cristian Encina brings together Mediterranean flavours and Latin American street food: paellas to share, ceviches, tacos, empanadas and wood-fired meats such as the Stockyard tomahawk. The space draws on Balinese arts and crafts, with handmade materials, weavings and traditional motifs, and includes private dining rooms for groups. Sunday brunch has its own menu, and so do Courtyard Saturdays.
Giselle
Restaurants · Canggu
Giselle is a Mediterranean restaurant on Jalan Tanah Barak in Canggu, created by a group of friends with deep roots in hospitality, who call it “a house for friends, strangers, and stories”. The mood is the Riviera brought to Bali, across a dining room and a courtyard. Seafood leads the menu, with crudos, a seafood platter, sea bream sashimi and flambéed fish, alongside homemade pasta and plates for sharing, built on local, responsibly sourced ingredients. On Friday and Saturday nights, Club 55 takes over after dinner.
Tuesday or Friday: on to the garden
On Tuesdays and Fridays, dinner at Ina Ré leads straight into Desa Kitsuné, whose garden becomes the party on those nights, rain or shine: guest DJs on Tuesdays, Bali-based DJs on Fridays. Parties are 21+, smart casual, so a beach outfit needs a change before the garden.
The guestlist is the venue's own: each guest registers individually on the night's page, linked from the flyer on /events, and receives a digital ticket by email. Joining is free; entry is complimentary before the cutoff shown on the night's page, reduced after, and the cutoff is earlier for men. A long sunset and a slow dinner can push you past it, so read the night's page first and plan backwards. Registration does not guarantee entry, and the venue says mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred. Its pool is decorative, so leave the swimwear behind. Desa Kitsuné at sunset covers this plan from the garden's side.

When the sunset itself is the point
If you want the horizon in front of you during the evening rather than before it, two Savaya Group venues further south are built around it. Zumana, at Sunset Bay in Kuta, has beachfront daybeds, an open-air dance floor and its restaurant Manuza, with Ritual of the Sun on Saturdays; see the Zumana sunset. Savaya, on the Uluwatu clifftop, opens its week with Last Light every Monday, a sunset set from The Cube.

Practical points
- The sunset depends on the sky; in the wet season it may not show, while Desa Kitsuné's garden still runs.
- Tell the concierge whether you would like to sit by the pool, on the sand or at a table; the venue confirms what it can offer.
- A table at a club is the only reserved space there, with a minimum spend set by the venue for the night; any deposit follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation.
- Bring a valid photo ID each, a passport or a driver's licence, for anywhere 21+.
- A driver who waits makes the move from beach to dinner simple; see a driver for your night out.
