Zumana sunset: where to watch it at Sunset Bay, Kuta
Zumana sits on the beachfront at Sunset Bay in Kuta, facing the sea where the sun goes down. Where to be in the venue for it, which day to choose, and how to arrive before the light goes.

Yes, the sunset is the main event at Zumana. The Savaya Group's beach club sits on the beachfront at Sunset Bay in Kuta, on the western side of the peninsula, so the sun goes down over the sea in front of you, every day the club is open. Come in the afternoon, choose where you want to be when the light goes — a daybed, the poolside or the sand by the dance floor — and stay on for the night if you like.

Why Zumana is built for the sunset
Zumana's own website describes the hour in these words: "This is the moment ZUMANA was built for. The horizon catches fire, the tribe gathers by the shore, and something shifts in the air." Before it, the venue invites you to "come early, settle in"; after it, "the music rises". The Savaya Group describes the same arc: relaxed afternoons and sunset gatherings that move into late-night performances.
Kuta's long sandy beach is also known as Sunset Beach, and Zumana is right on it, on Jl. Kartika Plaza. The club was designed by Rockwell Group around beachfront daybeds, poolside spaces, bars and an open-air dance floor, which means the view is not reserved for one terrace: most of the venue looks the same way.
Where to be when the sun goes down
- A beachfront daybed. The closest you get to the sand with a place of your own, and the classic way to watch the sunset here. It is a reserved place, booked with the venue: the Zumana daybed guide explains how.
- The poolside. Between the beach and the dance floor, for those who want the view and the music in one place. Swimwear is for the pools only.
- By ZENÍA. The venue's centrepiece, Daniel Popper's 10-metre sculpture "The Eternal Host", made with Balinese artisans from Ubud. As you move through the venue, her mask opens onto a view framed by the ocean. Her story is in Zumana and ZENÍA.
- On general admission. On a guestlist or a ticket you are free to move, but seating is limited and first come, first served. If sitting down for the sunset matters, book a place.
Which day for the sunset
The sun sets every evening, so the choice is about the mood around it:
- Saturday: Ritual of the Sun. The weekly sunset night, usually with a guest artist. Everything about it is in Zumana Ritual of the Sun.
- Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Zumana Sunday, Monday and Tuesday are the house's own days, steadier and usually calmer: the easiest way to watch the light without a headliner crowd. See Zumana on Sunday.
- Wednesday and Friday. Headliner nights. Come for the sunset and you will be there early for the artist too.
- Thursday rotates between named nights, including Made in Kuta.
Zumana's weekly nights sets the whole week out.
Arriving in time
The time of sunset in Bali shifts a little through the year, and Kuta's traffic is the real variable. Two habits help:
- Check the night's page on the calendar above. When a night has a guestlist, entry is complimentary before that night's cutoff and reduced after it; the cutoff is shown on the page.
- Leave earlier than you think. A car with a driver drops you at the door and comes back when you are ready; getting to Zumana covers the drop-off and the way home.
Staying on after dark
When the light has gone, the dance floor takes over. A table or a daybed is the only reserved space, and it is also the only way to leave and come back: re-entry at Zumana is possible only with a table. Its minimum spend is set by Zumana for that night, and the venue's table maps say it includes food and beverage credit. Zumana's restaurant is Manuza, so dinner can share the address; ask the concierge what can be arranged for your date.
The door at sunset
- 21+, with a valid photo ID: a passport or a driver's licence.
- Smart casual, "upscale beach chic" on the event pages; no flip-flops or sportswear. See the Zumana dress code.
- Card or QRIS inside, no cash.
- Mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred, in the venue's terms, and registration does not guarantee complimentary entry.
Where FirstBali fits
Tell the concierge the date, the size of your group and where you would like to be at sunset. FirstBali sends you the night's guestlist link, or asks Zumana for a daybed and books it on your behalf; it is yours once Zumana confirms it, and any deposit follows the venue's terms rather than confirming anything. An assistant answers at any hour, the team through the Bali day and evening.
For a sunset on the cliffs instead, Savaya's Monday Last Light is built around The Cube; in Canggu, Desa Kitsuné's garden parties start the night on Tuesdays and Fridays.
