Dinner before Savaya: where to eat on the Bukit

Where to eat before Savaya: El Kabron's cliff-edge Sunset Theater in Pecatu, Rock Bar at AYANA in Jimbaran, or a resort dinner in Nusa Dua. Book the dinner and the club separately.

For dinner before Savaya, stay on the Bukit peninsula: El Kabron, on the same Pecatu cliffs, has a Sunset Theater at the cliff edge set up for sunset dinners and a Mediterranean restaurant; Rock Bar at AYANA in Jimbaran pairs sunset cocktails with seafood tapas; Nusa Dua's resorts suit a longer, quieter dinner. Book the dinner and Savaya as two separate things — a restaurant reservation does not get you into the club. FirstBali books both.

Why dinner on the Bukit

Savaya sits on the clifftop in Pecatu, Uluwatu. Dining on the same peninsula keeps the evening in one part of the island: one driver, one route, and no rush back across Bali before the night starts. Arriving fed also matters because Savaya does not allow outside food or drink, and it is cashless, so cards are what you carry. The full picture of the club is in the Savaya guide.

El Kabron: sunset dinner on the same cliffs

El Kabron has stood on the limestone cliffs of Pecatu since 2011. Three spaces matter for an evening that ends at Savaya:

  • The Sunset Theater, at the cliff edge, set up for sunset dinners.
  • The Mediterranean restaurant, serving seafood, oysters, paella and steak.
  • The Hedonism Lounge, an adults-only infinity-pool area with daybeds and sofas, for an earlier start.

Its sunset parties bring DJs with live saxophone, violin and trumpet, so the evening already has a soundtrack before the club. How El Kabron compares with Rock Bar is covered in El Kabron vs Rock Bar, and the venue on its own in the El Kabron guide.

Rock Bar: cocktails and tapas over Jimbaran Bay

Rock Bar is AYANA Bali's cliffside bar in Jimbaran, stretched along the rocks above the ocean. Guests reach it by inclinator, watch the sun set, then stay as the DJs play on. The menu is cocktails inspired by the colours of the sea and Mediterranean tapas built on Jimbaran Bay seafood — a lighter dinner than a full sit-down, which suits a long night ahead. Two points from the venue: non-resident visitors can reserve, though some decks are kept for hotel and villa guests, and payment is by card or QR only. More in the Rock Bar guide.

A resort dinner in Nusa Dua

For a slower dinner — an anniversary, a proposal, a group that wants to sit down properly — the resorts of Nusa Dua, on the other side of the Bukit, are the alternative. The Apurva Kempinski is one of them; what its restaurants serve is in Apurva Kempinski dining.

Three ways to plan the evening

  • Sunset dinner, then Savaya. El Kabron or Rock Bar for the sunset, then on to the club. The classic order for a weekend night.
  • Last Light instead of dinner out. On Mondays Savaya's own Last Light is a sunset set from The Cube; if the sunset is the point, it may be the evening's start rather than a separate dinner — see Savaya Last Light.
  • Dinner with a table. For a celebration, book the dinner and a Savaya table in one request. The table is the only reserved space at the club, with a minimum spend set by the venue per night, and it is yours once Savaya confirms it — see Savaya table booking.

What dinner does not cover

A restaurant booking is a restaurant booking. To get into Savaya you need, depending on the night, your own guestlist registration on the night's page, an official ticket from the venue's own channel, or a table. Registration is free but does not guarantee complimentary entry, and the free entry only applies before the cutoff shown on the night's page — so plan dinner around it. Everyone needs to be 21 or over, with a passport or driver's licence. The order of the evening is set out in dinner and a club night in Bali.

Getting between them

Keep one car with a driver for the whole evening: dinner, Savaya, and home. FirstBali adds it in the same conversation; the route options are in getting to Savaya.

How to book

Send the concierge the date, how many you are, the dinner you have in mind and how you want to enter Savaya: list, ticket or table. FirstBali books the dinner and the table with each venue on your behalf; each is yours once that venue confirms it. Our assistant replies at any hour; the team picks up through the Bali day and evening.
